Smiley's dialogue is generated, given short prompts, by a machine learning language model called GPT-J. Its choice of words may be bizzare and in some cases offensive. Please note that such dialogue is not written by me, and as yet its speech is unfiltered.
I have now compiled the Python source code to run on Windows, and to hide my API key. To run the game, download and extract the ".zip" file and execute "main/Smiley.exe".

Hi greyedoutg59, I've just compiled Smiley to run on Windows as a ".exe" file, so you no longer have to worry about installing Python and the game's dependencies. If you download the new version, extract the ".zip" file, and run "main/Smiley.exe", it should run fine on Windows. Tested on Windows 10. There are some bugs I have noticed since uploading the game, which I didn't have time to address initially as this was made for a very short game jam, but I plan to address these and add more features, such as the ability to have a text chat with Smiley, other needs for you to address, and more ways to interact with them. The game as it stands is quite a bare proof-of-concept, but I hope you enjoy it all the same :)
